As a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, you will perform polysomnographic recordings, score studies, and perform some respiratory therapy and nursing functions. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with our patients, guests, other team members, and medical staff by striving for excellence in service and quality. You will be responsible for:

  • Performing polysomnographic data acquisition, while monitoring study tracing quality to ensure that signals are artifact-free and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and collects patient information in an effort to meet patient specific needs in conjunction with Sleep Disorders Center protocols.
  • Prepares a summary of technical findings for interpretation by a sleep specialist by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age specific care and perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic testing on adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Sets up and administers CPAP or BIPAP, as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards set forth in the clinical practice guidelines.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the Sleep Disorders Center accreditation via the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) through standardized protocols and quality measures
  • Documents all records in a complete fashion, including all pertinent patient data.
  • Successfully completed any other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Registered by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care in Sleep Disorder Specialty (RRT-SDS).
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Skills as defined by the clinical practice guidelines in sleep medicine.
