Community Engagement Assistant | Location: 11149 Research Blvd, Austin, TX | Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM  (including occasional evenings and weekends) | FLSA Status: Nonexempt


Austin Telco FCU is looking for a Community Engagement Assistant to join our family. This role supports Austin Telco’s mission by strengthening membership growth and community presence through a blend of administrative coordination and field engagement. It assists with coordinating vendor and partner relationships, tracking and maintaining inventory of promotional materials and merchandise, and supporting the logistics of on-site activations and community events. By combining strong organizational skills with a passion for community involvement, this position helps bridge the gap between strategic planning and hands-on execution to deliver a consistent and impactful brand experience across Austin Telco’s field of membership.


What You’ll Do:

Event Coordination & Community Engagement

  • Support planning, logistics, and on-site execution for community events, branch activities, and organizational initiatives 
  • Participate in brand activation events and assist with event setup, breakdown, and engagement efforts 
  • Travel to branch locations and community events to deliver materials, support activations, and gather content 
  • Assist in coordinating volunteers for community events and brand activations 

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Support business development efforts, including scheduling partner meetings and assisting with membership drives 
  • Assist with financial education classes and outreach initiatives 
  • Support community sponsorship coordination, including intake and follow-up 

Vendor & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with external vendors for ordering and printing promotional materials 
  • Track, organize, and maintain inventory of marketing materials and merchandise 
  • Assist with procurement and distribution of promotional items across branches 

Internal Marketing & Employee Support

  • Assist with the daily operations of the internal employee merchandise store 
  • Distribute merchandise through internal courier systems 
  • Coordinate employee anniversary gifts 
  • Facilitate the approval and fulfillment of business card orders for ATFCU employees 
  • Partner with the Marketing Assistant to support advertising tied to sponsorships 

Brand Consistency & Administrative Support

  • Audit branch marketing displays to ensure consistent brand standards 
  • Support marketing projects, reporting, and administrative tasks as assigned 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required 
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in marketing, event planning, brand activations, or business development 
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage logistical details for multiple simultaneous projects and oversee inventory and procurement of promotional items  
  • Communication:  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on professional representation and advocacy 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Mobility: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to branches and events 
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, occasional evenings and weekends 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration 
  • Experience in a financial institution or credit union 
  • Experience working with vendors and managing promotional inventory 
  • Ability to lead and coordinate volunteers during events

Additional Requirements:

  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential to support event logistics and coordination 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and travel between locations as needed 
  • Comfortable working in office settings, branch locations, and outdoor event environments
