This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health and special education.

Responsibilities

  • Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy strategies under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Collect, record, and analyze data on client progress to inform ongoing treatment plans and ensure consistency in intervention delivery.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, toileting, and other self-care skills, fostering independence.
  • Support the development of communication skills through teaching techniques aligned with applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, care plans, and behavioral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and legal standards.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to provide consistent support and progress updates.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions focused on behavior management, medical terminology, and best practices in behavioral health.

Skills

  • Strong foundation in behavioral therapy principles and techniques for working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively teach new skills and manage behavior positively.
  • Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Ability to collect detailed data accurately during sessions for progress tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines related to medical records and client confidentiality.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when working with diverse populations.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to behavioral health settings is a plus. Join us in creating a supportive environment where every individual can thrive! This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about making a difference through teaching, patient care, and applied behavior analysis techniques.
