We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Associate Mental Health Clinician who is working toward licensure to join our team. This role provides the opportunity to gain supervised clinical experience while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. The Associate Clinician will work under the supervision of a licensed clinician and play a key role in supporting clients on their recovery journey.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments under supervision.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a supervising clinician.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational, state, and payer requirements (e.g., Medi-Cal).
• Participate in regular clinical supervision (individual and/or group) in accordance with California BBS requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including licensed clinicians, case managers, and support staff.
• Attend and contribute to treatment team meetings and case consultations.
• Deliver psychoeducation to clients and families on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation.
• Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards, including scope of practice for associates.
• Support a safe, respectful, and recovery-oriented environment for all clients.

Qualifications

• Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as one of the following:
• Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)
• Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
• Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC)
• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Experience in mental health and/or substance use treatment settings preferred (internship or practicum acceptable).
• Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
• Commitment to professional growth and obtaining licensure.
• Ability to receive and apply clinical supervision and feedback.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred but not required).

Supervision & Development

• Receive ongoing clinical supervision from a licensed clinician in accordance with California BBS requirements.
• Support in accruing supervised hours toward licensure.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
