Job Summary: In this classroom-based role, you’ll teach cabling fundamentals, including copper and fiber optics, mentor students, and support their path to success. If you’re skilled in network infrastructure and passionate about making a difference, this is a rewarding opportunity to inspire the next generation


Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7am -5:30pm


 

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach installation & troubleshooting of coaxial, twisted pair, and fiber optic systems
  • Follow Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) & National Electrical Code (NEC) standards
  • Maintain a structured, disciplined classroom
  • Track attendance and student records
  • Prepare lessons and use available curriculum resources
  • Maintain classroom equipment, safety, and cleanliness
  • Support student job placement through employer outreach


Requirements:


Minimum: 

  • State certified, licensed or accredited by a professional trade organization.
  • Candidates without certification must have hands-on experience with copper and fiber optic installation and maintenance. 
  • Knowledge of cabling systems, including twisted pair, coaxial, and residential/commercial wiring. 
  • Familiarity with tools, connectors, cable testing, and hardware installation .
  • Ability to teach technical skills and safety practices in a clear, effective way.

Preferred: 

Minimum plus Job Corps experience. 


Knowledge: 

Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
