High School Counselor/Academic Coordinator

Smoky Hill Education Service Center is seeking an experienced academic coordinator for Lawrence Gardner High School, an accredited high school serving students at the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex in Topeka. This is a full-time, 12-month contract reporting to the Principal.

Position Responsibilities Include:

· Collaborate effectively with all education stakeholders

· Develop student academic plans

· Maintain student goal and graduation progress

· Preserve accurate records and confidentiality

· Coordinate school assessments

· Conduct initial student meetings

· Performing other duties as assigned by Smoky Hill ESC leadership

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field

· Valid Kansas educator license

· Minimum of 5 years as a teacher, high school setting preferred

· Experience working with adjudicated youth is desirable

· Professionalism, dependability, and discretion in handling confidential information
