Social Worker

Small Rockville Elder Law and Disability Rights firm seeks Social Worker. This position requires good therapeutic and social skills to work closely with seniors, their families, medical professionals, hospital and nursing home staffers, and caregivers. Position requires excellent case management and clinical skills; a good eye for detail; and an enthusiasm for client advocacy. Staff Social Worker works closely with the attorneys and all other coworkers to improve quality of life for our clients. Often the Social Worker helps clients by interpreting the strange, complex, or traumatic, in a way both client and staff can understand.
Position requires local travel so must have transportation (mileage is reimbursed). Social Worker will participate in conferences with law firm clients as well work in the field visiting, assessing clients in long term care facilities, etc. Because of the nature of the work of an Elder Law and Disability Rights law firm, the Social Worker may be required to serve clients by doing some rare weekend work and may be called on in emergency or crisis situations. Social Worker is continually networking and marketing to provide referrals. Position requires good documentation skills and the expectation that the Social Worker will stay current on professional journals, articles, and other relevant material.
