REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in counseling, Educational Counseling, or Social Work
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with at-risk children and adolescents
Current or ability to obtain certifications in:
Safety Care
First Aid, CPR, and AED
Completion of required annual trainings (Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control, Human Rights, Mandated Reporting, Cultural Competency, etc.)
Completion of Child Abuse Recognition Training
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide weekly individual counseling sessions and additional support as needed
Facilitate weekly small group counseling sessions, including topics such as:
Social skills
Emotional and social awareness
Personal growth and development
Self-esteem
Impulse control
Anger management
Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide referrals to students and families
Update and maintain student social histories and records
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
Interpret and present assessment data to school staff and leadership
Serve as a liaison between school, family, and community
Support the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
Participate in student transition planning
Provide crisis intervention services as needed
Maintain accurate documentation and case records
Engage in ongoing professional development
Model professionalism and support the overall mission of Dominion Care
