REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in counseling, Educational Counseling, or Social Work

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with at-risk children and adolescents

  • Current or ability to obtain certifications in:

  • Safety Care

  • First Aid, CPR, and AED

  • Completion of required annual trainings (Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control, Human Rights, Mandated Reporting, Cultural Competency, etc.)

  • Completion of Child Abuse Recognition Training

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide weekly individual counseling sessions and additional support as needed

  • Facilitate weekly small group counseling sessions, including topics such as:

  • Social skills

  • Emotional and social awareness

  • Personal growth and development

  • Self-esteem

  • Impulse control

  • Anger management

  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide referrals to students and families

  • Update and maintain student social histories and records

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success

  • Interpret and present assessment data to school staff and leadership

  • Serve as a liaison between school, family, and community

  • Support the development of a positive and inclusive school culture

  • Participate in student transition planning

  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed

  • Maintain accurate documentation and case records

  • Engage in ongoing professional development

  • Model professionalism and support the overall mission of Dominion Care
