Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to support clients with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, eating, and toileting, promoting independence and self-care skills
- Support educational goals through teaching functional skills, social skills, and communication strategies in accordance with care plans
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by ensuring confidentiality of medical records and client information
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, and families to ensure consistency in behavioral health strategies and progress tracking
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral therapy techniques, medical terminology, and behavior management strategies to enhance service quality
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Strong understanding of special education principles and teaching methodologies tailored for diverse learning needs
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement behavior management techniques effectively
- Excellent data collection skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation of client progress
- Compassionate attitude with patience and enthusiasm for working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with behavioral health needs
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and maintaining detailed medical records is a plus
- Effective communication skills to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and engage clients positively
