Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the day to day operations of our after-school program in Lealman, a community in need. This person is responsible for providing a fun, safe, caring, and educational environment while working with children grades K-12 on various academic, mentoring, leadership, and other activities. Ensure the overall program is aligned with the mission of PAL.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Model and uphold all agency policies and procedures.
- Promote and stimulate interest and participation in all activities with participants.
- Build positive relationships with youth and serve as a role model.
- Quickly identify and seek to resolve conflicts and behavioral problems.
- Complete necessary reports to monitor student progress and participation.
- Coach, drive van, mentor, tutor, and keep students on a successful track.
- Keep the site, equipment, and supplies organized, clean, and safe.
Job Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Background Check: Must pass a Level 2 Background Check, including fingerprinting and a polygraph, conducted by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, as well as additional fingerprinting with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). https://info.flclearinghouse.com/
- Engagement: Actively participate in daily youth activities.
- Collaboration: Demonstrate willingness to work with youth, parents, staff, and volunteers.
- Judgment: Exhibit good judgment, common sense, and the ability to make responsible choices and decisions.
- Communication: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak professionally to staff, members, parents, groups, and community residents.
- Teamwork: Be a team player with patience, compassion, and a strong desire to mentor and teach by example.
- Age and Licensing: Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Substance-Free: Must be drug-free for at least 6 months (non-negotiable).
- Hiring Timeline: Must be able to accommodate a waiting period of up to 8 weeks for the hiring process.
