Role: School Counselor, Psychologist, or Social Worker Reports to: Head of Child and Family Support Services DepartmentDepartment: Child and Family Support ServicesJob Status: Full TimePosition Start Date: August 28, 2026 Job DescriptionBenchmark School is seeking a school counselor, psychologist, or social worker for our grades 1-8 school for students who learn differently. Benchmark School remains committed to the social and emotional well-being of its students. To meet this commitment, the Child & Family Support Services Department was created to provide support and consultation for its students, parents, and staff.  ResponsibilitiesProviding support to students through individual counseling and group meetingsTeaching weekly class meeting lessons (Affective Curriculum) Offering ongoing consultation to parents and staff as neededLeading parent groups and workshops periodically Communicating with students, parents, and other staff members in a positive, clear and professional mannerDemonstrating an openness to learning, growth, and change in accordance with the educational philosophy of Benchmark SchoolActively pursuing professional growth and development through professional reading and participation in professional development activities in and outside of Benchmark SchoolParticipating in periodic evening or weekend activities, including meetings, professional development activities, and school events QualificationsAdvanced degree in Counseling, Social Work, or PsychologyLicensed and advanced certification preferredMinimum of three years' experience working with school-age children preferredAbility to work well with a teamEffective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and parentsEnthusiastic interest in motivating and supporting studentsA role model for students Application & Writing ResponsePlease apply via the link below, and provide the following:  A current resume Three professional references, including names, telephone numbers, and email addresses In addition to a standard cover letter, please respond to the following questions in no more than 500 words.
