Key responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, and developing individualized treatment recommendations. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on hospital admissions and discharge planning, and participate in case consultations. What you need to be successfulSuccessful candidates will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric and medical management principles, particularly in the treatment of individuals with serious mental illness, along with a strong understanding of psychotropic medications and their therapeutic applications. They will possess working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and legal procedures governing mental health treatment and exhibit proficiency in crisis intervention, assessment, and the treatment of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Additionally, candidates must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and complex clinical documentation while maintaining accurate and confidential records.To qualify for this position, applicants must have the following: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree with a specialty in PsychiatryCurrent, valid license to practice psychiatry in the Commonwealth of Virginia, including Virginia Controlled Substance Registration and active DEA registrationBoard certification in PsychiatryClinical and/or hospital-based experience serving individuals with mental illnessMake your moveIf you are a dedicated psychiatric professional seeking a leadership role where you can make a real difference, we encourage you to apply.
