Position: Per Diem Bilingual Evening Counselor Hourly Rate: $30/Hour FLSA Status: Non-ExemptHours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Department: CounselingLocation: HauppaugePURPOSE:The Counselor provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based counseling to individuals impacted by power based violence, which may include domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse and human trafficking. This role is dedicated to supporting survivors in their healing journey by offering clinical intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and advocacy. The counselor empowers clients to build resilience, restore a sense of safety and self-worth, and achieve personal goals.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain a caseload of minimum of 6-10 clientsOffer crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support to clients in urgent or high-risk situations.Support clients in building coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and resilience throughout their healing journey.Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential documentation, including intakes, informed consent, progress notes,etc., in compliance with agency, ethical, and funder standards.Conducts weekly client sessions via in person or virtual support. Coordinates with Child Protective Services and other agencies to provide ongoing and comprehensive support and intervention to client family systems. Participates in weekly individual supervision. Perform other duties as assigned ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:Reports to: Director of Counseling and Program InnovationQUALIFICATIONS:Education & Licensure: Limited Permit for recent MSW graduates required, Licensed Master Social Worker or equivalent (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) preferred. Experience: 1+ years of prior experience working with individuals who experienced trauma and power-based violence. Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities, including but not limited to TF-CBT, EMDR, and DBT, with the ability to adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of survivors of exploitation and trauma. Must possess a high level of competency in organizational skills, interpersonal communication, and relationship building. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Google DriveFingerprint clearance is required Ability to collaborate with team members, coordinating feedback and knowledge. Valid NYS Driver's License.
