A health services organization in New York City is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their staff in Queens as their new Assistant Team Leader / Mental Health Clinician. In this role, the Assistant Team Leader / Mental Health Clinician (MSW) will be responsible for combining administrative duties with direct clinical care, focusing on clients with serious mental illness & substance use disorders.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm (two 15-minute breaks & one 30-minute break)
  • Setting: Hybrid (at least 3 days of fieldwork; 1 to 2 days Remote)

Responsibilities:

  • Providing individual and group therapy addressing mental health challenges
  • Collaborating with the Team Leader to oversee daily operations
  • Coordinating comprehensive assessments and developing treatment plans
  • Delivering immediate support to clients in crisis
  • Conducting quality assurance activities
  • Performing other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Behavioral Health
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
  • Strong knowledge of Therapeutic modalities
  • Solid assessment and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advocacy and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience in an ACT and/or Mobile Crisis setting
  • Solid understanding of EMR systems
