Job Overview
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, you will play a vital role in transforming lives through compassionate and effective mental health support. You’ll engage with clients to provide psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and counseling services tailored to their unique needs. Your expertise will guide individuals and families toward healing and growth, making a lasting impact on their mental well-being.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations to understand clients’ needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions using various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that address specific challenges such as PTSD, addiction, grief, and behavioral issues.
  • Facilitate crisis management interventions to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient and outpatient settings to deliver holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT).
  • Engage in clinical research to enhance therapeutic practices and contribute to the field of mental health.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms to extend your reach and provide accessible care to clients.

Basic qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • Experience working with children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient assessment protocols.

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in Christian counseling or experience with faith-based approaches.
  • Familiarity with art therapy, dance therapy, or psychodynamic therapy techniques.
  • Proven ability in case management and direct support for clients with diverse needs.
  • Experience in behavioral health settings such as hospitals or clinics.
