Position Title: School Guidance Counselor (K–8)

Location: Arts Campus, Jacksonville, FL

Job Type: Full-Time (10-Month Contract)

Salary: Starting at $52,500 (based on experience and credentials)

Work Location: In Person

Job Summary-

Global Leadership Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Guidance Counselor to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of students at our Arts Campus. The ideal candidate will provide counseling services, implement school-wide programs, and collaborate with staff and families to promote student success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities-

Provide individual and small group counseling to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development

Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with student needs

Support students with behavior interventions and conflict resolution strategies

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success

Monitor student progress, attendance, and overall well-being

Assist with crisis intervention and provide appropriate referrals when needed

Support MTSS/RTI processes and student intervention plans

Coordinate and participate in parent meetings, conferences, and school events

Maintain accurate and confidential student records

Promote a positive school climate and culture

Qualifications-

Master’s degree in School Counseling

Valid Florida certification in School Counseling

Previous experience working in a school setting preferred

Strong understanding of child development and social-emotional learning

Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday

8-hour workday

In-person services required

Physical Requirements-

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear

Use of computers and office equipment

Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds

Activity levels:

Standing/Walking: Up to 2/3 of the day

Sitting: Under 1/3

Reaching/Talking/Hearing: Over 2/3
