Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Pay Rate: $51,200 - $64,000 annually based on experience

What You’ll Do

The Behavioral Health Therapist provides compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and/or families experiencing emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges. This role involves clinical assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support the well-being of clients. They work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans, offer support, and empower them to achieve better mental and emotional well-being. This position works closely with the BH Specialty Programs Manager under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health and Midland Specialty. CAN Community Health focuses on excellence in healthcare to our mission patients and our community partners.

  1. Diagnose and treat mental health disorders using evidence-based treatment modalities.
  2. Collects data about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify cause of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other resources.
  3. Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
  4. Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  5. Provides therapeutic crisis intervention as required. 
  6. Collaborate with other staff and multidisciplinary team members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. 
  7. Documents therapy visits and all encounters in a timely manner in the electronic medical records system. Maintain up-to-date client and program records as required by funders and agency.
  8. Evaluates patient progress and makes individual modifications.
  9. Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services. 
  10. Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.

Requirements:

Education/Professional:

  1. Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  2. Current with all state licensing requirements, including LCSW, LMHC and LMFT.
  3. Experience providing therapy in a clinical or community setting.
  4. Experience working with co-occurring populations (HIV, chronic health conditions, mental health, and substance use) preferred.
  5.  Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license.
