Job Summary
We are seeking a personable and self-directed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (FNP's who are pursuing their PMHNP will be considered) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based care to diverse patient populations. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes in Assisted Living Communities throughout Venice, Sarasota & Bradenton.

This is a 1099 Contractor Position, meaning we do not provide benefits. Pay will be negotiated on a percentage of the collections you bring in. This allows us to ensure that you are well-compensated, while self-motivated.

This job is in-person at Assisted and Independent Living Facilities throughout Sarasota County and does require some travel. The schedule is extremely flexible and you will be in charge of your own patient panel.

We estimate that the current patient panel represents 15-25 hours per week, with potential for full time as your schedule allows.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications with precision, ensuring safe administration and monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
  • Provide psychotherapy sessions utilizing evidence-based modalities tailored to individual needs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive counseling.
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care plans.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) Practice Fusion to document assessments, treatment plans, medication management, and progress notes accurately.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and available community resources.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at advancing psychiatric treatments and improving patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Valid Florida NP License with certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP-BC or equivalent). FNP's who are currently pursuing a PMHNP will be considered.
  • Valid DEA Number
  • Valid CPR/ BLS certification
  • Proven experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to diverse populations, especially geriatrics, assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication management protocols
  • Strong knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes, and HIPAA compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver clear education on treatment plans.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
