Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality behavioral therapy to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives by implementing individualized care plans and supporting their growth and development. As an RBT, you will work closely with a team of professionals dedicated to fostering positive behavioral change in a compassionate and engaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support clients’ progress.
- Collect, record, and analyze data related to client behaviors, skill acquisition, and progress toward individualized goals.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, feeding, and hygiene, to promote independence.
- Support the development and execution of personalized care plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and abilities.
- Use applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to teach new skills and manage challenging behaviors effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, behavioral records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Foster a positive, patient-centered environment that encourages growth, learning, and emotional well-being for clients with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities in educational or clinical settings.
- Ability to assist with ADLs while promoting independence and confidence.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance for confidentiality.
- Excellent teaching skills combined with patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in data collection methods to track behavioral progress accurately.
