Tū Ora Compass Health and its associated organisations exist to enable Better Health Through Great Primary Care. We are a registered not-for-profit charitable trust which provides primary health care and community health services to an enrolled population of around 440,000, mainly through a network of 70 general practices throughout the greater Wellington region and employed staff. We have offices in Wellington, Porirua, Masterton and Kāpiti. Tū Ora Compass Health works in collaboration with Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, Manatū Hauora Ministry of Health, Te Aka Whai Ora Māori Health Authority, iwi and other organisations. We are the sole PHO in the Wairarapa.
Role Description
We’re looking for a Health Improvement Practitioner to join our team in Wellington Region. You’ll work in our GP clinics, helping people with mental and physical health support. You’ll use our Behavioural Health Consultancy (BHC) model to provide tailored care, and act as a link between GPs, peer health coaches, and community support workers.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide brief psychological interventions (e.g., Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT).
- Run evidence-based group programs to support health and well-being
- Work with the GP team to promote mental health and addiction awareness.
- Develop and improve group pathways for the community’s health needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- A post-graduate qualification that allows you to provide therapeutic support.
- Registration with a relevant health body under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA).
- Experience working with clients in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic models, especially brief psychological interventions.
- A genuine passion for talking therapies.
