Position SummaryThe Purchasing Intern will support the Purchasing and Supply Chain team in executing daily procurement activities within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience in supplier management, purchase order processing, and supply chain operations while ensuring alignment with quality standards such as AS9100.

The intern will assist with pricing analysis, supplier communications, and expediting activities to support on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

This role is temporary with an anticipated Start Date: May 25 or June 1 & anticipated end date of August 28th. This role is not benefits eligible. 

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist buyers in creating and maintaining pricing lists for critical suppliers and commoditiesSupport purchase order (PO) placement, including data entry, validation, and documentationMonitor and expedite overdue purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materialsTrack and follow up on items listed on the late order / past due reportCommunicate with suppliers regarding order status, delivery updates, and discrepanciesAssist in sending, tracking, and organizing supplier survey and evaluation formsSupport supplier compliance efforts, including documentation aligned with AS9100 standardsMaintain accurate procurement records, supplier files, and tracking toolsAssist with cost comparisons, quote analysis, and supplier benchmarkingCollaborate with internal teams (Planning, Operations, Quality) to support material needsProvide general administrative and reporting support to the Purchasing teamQualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in:Business AdministrationSupply Chain ManagementOperations / SIOP / PlanningSales or related fieldStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)Excellent business writing and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesInterest in aerospace manufacturing or supply chain operations preferredPreferred Skills / ExposureFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle)Understanding of procurement or supply chain conceptsExposure to supplier quality standards (AS9100) or regulated industriesAnalytical skills with ability to work with data (pricing, lead times, etc.)What You’ll GainHands-on experience in aerospace supply chain operationsExposure to supplier management and procurement processesUnderstanding of quality and compliance requirements (AS9100)Experience working cross-functionally with Planning, Quality, and OperationsDevelopment of professional communication and analytical skillsWork EnvironmentOffice/manufacturing environmentFrequent interaction with internal teams and external suppliersFast-paced, deadline-driven settingOther DutiesThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
