Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Case Management Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day-to day operations of the Next Door Office. Because of the nature of this Program, it is essential that the Case Management Assistant believe in the philosophy of the Agency as well as be able to develop a rapport with program participants. This program operates Monday through Friday 9am-6pm, and Saturdays 9am-noon, with the exception of holidays. On-call services are available as needed. This position starts at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm when the program is in operation.
CRITICAL ELEMENTS:
1) Assess Needs and Referrals: Assist program staff with triaging the needs of individuals and families coming in and/or calling in for services by referring to the Counselor of the Day or assigning to a scheduled workshop. Offer basic case management services to assist with directing to community resources.
2) Forms: Maintain forms used for program operations.
3) Office Supplies: Maintain and order program office supplies.
4) Mail: Date-stamp and distribute incoming mail. Post all outgoing mail and deliver to mail box.
5) Printers, Copiers, Telephone and Computers: Serve as point person when issues develop with office products used daily by program staff.
6) Telephone coverage: Answer phones during regularly, scheduled business hours. Direct messages to appropriate staff. Develop an understanding of community resources available to assist individuals and families in need and direct when appropriate to those services.
7) Documentation: Learn how to use the HMIS system and document as needed.
ADDITIONAL ELEMENTS:
1) Participate in staff meetings and assigned trainings as required.
2) Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the first floor office, including waiting room, office space, and bathroom.
3) Attend 12 (twelve) hours of job-related training each fiscal year.
4) Follow and support agency philosophy, policy, and procedures.
5) Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator of Next Door.
Salary Description:
$35,000 per year
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in social sciences and two (2) years Human Services experience preferred; Experience with Microsoft Products; 21 (twenty-one) years old; valid driver’s license. PA State Police Background check. Child Line Clearances. FBI Fingerprint Clearance. E.O.E.
