About Next Step ABA
At Next Step ABA, we are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Based in Brooklyn, NY, we provide high-quality, compassionate, and individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. We are looking for passionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our growing team and help our clients take their next steps toward independence and success.
Job Description
As an RBT at Next Step ABA, you will work directly with clients in 1:1 settings (in-home, clinic, or community) to implement individualized behavior intervention plans. You will work closely under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to help clients develop crucial communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 direct ABA therapy to children and adolescents with ASD.
- Accurately implement skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the supervising BCBA.
- Collect and record daily objective data on client progress using our designated data collection software.
- Assist with stimulus control transfers, errorless learning, and natural environment teaching (NET).
- Maintain clear, professional, and objective communication with the client’s family and your clinical supervisors.
- Respond effectively to challenging behaviors following the specific protocols outlined in the client's Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
- Attend ongoing training and clinical supervision meetings.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Certification: Active and in good standing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is highly preferred).
- Experience: At least 6 months to 1 year of experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Clearances: Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to keep up with active children, which may include kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Logistics: Reliable transportation to travel between client locations in and around the Brooklyn area.
