2026 Summer Alternative Education Counselor


Summer school employees will receive one day of sick leave credit for summer school service; if summer school sick leave is not used, it may be carried over by the Member to the regular school year. (Article 19.6 in the TRUE contract)

Summer school employment is at will and may be terminated by the district. (Article 19.4)

Summer school hourly rate is $60(Article 19.7). Summer school counselors will be paid to arrive 15 minutes before student arrival and to stay for 15 minutes after student dismissal, based on the hourly rate in section 19.7 (Article 19.8).

  • All programs are conducted IN PERSON.

  • Employees must be able to work the full assignment.

  • Qualified applicants will hold a valid CA Pupil Personnel Services: School Counseling credential

  • Up to 7 additional hours for planning meetings and prep time

Work Year: Summer School
Salary : 5.0 hours/day, hourly rate of $60
NOTE: June 19th and July 3rd are Non-Workdays for Certificated Positions
