Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy and personal counseling to graduate students in the FSU College of Medicine for general mental health concerns, personal stressors, and the promotion of well-being. Show proficiency in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, adjustment, grief, personality, and interpersonal conflict.
- Maintain documentation related to mental health sessions. Respect confidentiality, HIPAA and FERPA.
- Refer students as needed for additional support services, such as academic support, psychiatry, or academic accommodations.
Qualifications
- Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an American Psychological Association (APA)-approved counseling or clinical psychology program to include an APA-approved pre-doctoral internship or equivalent.
- Florida licensure as a psychologist or eligibility to obtain licensure within 90 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in working with college students in higher education. Preferred experience in medical or health-sciences education.
- Doctorate-level training in the science of learning, including educational psychology or school psychology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The FSU College of Medicine (COM) Office of Student Counseling Services provides psychological and educational support services to graduate students in the Medicine, Physician Assistant, Bridge to Medicine, and Biomedical Sciences programs. More information can be found at https://med.fsu.edu/studentcounseling/home. All services are provided on-site in the FSU COM via in-person or telehealth scheduled appointments. There is no remote work option for this position.

Part-time or Full-time role, appointment length is flexible with renewal available depending on funding and performance. Availability of working hours between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM weekdays.

This role is ideal for a team-oriented candidate looking for an opportunity to work in a small office with psychologists, academic support specialists, and one administrative support employee in a collaborative environment. The candidate must enjoy and be passionate about providing clinical services to the graduate student population.
What is a typical day?
A typical day primarily involves provision of direct, individual academic support services in standard 50-minute appointment sessions to College of Medicine graduate students. Team-based meetings and consultation with other OSCS faculty/staff are typical.

Anticipated Salary Range
$43.27 to $48.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
