Entry Level Pet Counselor/ Sales Associate

As a Pet Counselor, you will receive on-the-job training regarding sales processes, puppy housebreaking and teething, and care for smaller animals like hamsters, guinea pigs, and ferrets. In this role, your ability to succeed directly correlates to your ability to learn—the faster you learn, the faster you succeed! In order to encourage consistent learning and training progress the goal is to have you at a fully trained status in 45 days!

We are considering applicants with at least 30 hours of availability per week both in the summertime and during the fall and winter months/school year. Weekends are required!

Starting pay is $13/hr while in training, base pay jumps to $15/hr when fully trained, not including performance based pay!

Responsibilities include:

- Using Petland processes to send pets home on every shift!

- Providing excellent customer service

- Educating customers on the needs for pets they already own

- Making phone calls to potential customers interested in our pets

Minimum Job Requirements:

- Ability to perform basic math

- Basic computer skills (Typing, Microsoft Word and Excel, etc.)

- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Good personal hygiene
