Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate bilingual (English & Spanish) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families, focusing on fostering emotional well-being and resilience. You will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, conduct assessments, and deliver evidence-based interventions. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to understand clients’ mental health needs and develop tailored treatment strategies.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention techniques and manage urgent situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Engage in case management activities including data collection, progress tracking, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, social workers, educators, and community organizations to coordinate care plans and support services.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to motivate clients toward positive change and behavioral improvements.
- Document clinical notes thoroughly, ensuring adherence to medical terminology standards such as ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for diagnoses.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required; Master’s degree or higher in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Clinical Counseling or equivalent preferred.
- Valid licensure or certification as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist or equivalent in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Prior experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or families in clinical settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral management, and crisis management.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD care needs, addiction counseling, or special education is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards such as CPT coding for billing purposes and ICD coding for diagnoses is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality is essential.
