- Attends to resident health and safety needs according to all assessment and care plans, including medication administration, personal hygiene, and home and community safety.
- Performs cleaning, cooking, and other site maintenance as assigned.
- Provides transportation as required using company vehicles.
- Ensures the ongoing facilitation of person-centered principals in the home.
- Deals effectively with crisis situations.
- Completes all documentation and tracking timely and accurately.
- Communicates effectively with residents, guardians and family members, and all other members of residents' treatment teams.
- Completes all required training, including annual refreshers, in the appropriate timeframe.
- Reports all behavioral incidents, medical emergencies, and/or significant changes in medical condition to Residential Site Supervisor and completes all related paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintains respectful and professional relationships with residents, staff, guardians and family members, and all other members of treatment teams.
- Confronts conflict productively, as described in the residential training.
- Utilizes effective time management skills.
- Strictly complies with household budget protocols and spending limits, including guidelines for resident personal needs funds.
- Maintains the residential site, vehicles, and resident personal belongings in good repair, being mindful of safety and cleanliness.
- General knowledge of developmental disabilities system in Colorado.
- Skill in working with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
- Ability to productively confront conflict.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet based databases, assistive technology, etc.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of college preferred.
- Ability and willingness to successfully complete required training curriculum.
- 2 years of experience with people with IDD preferred.
- OR some combination of education and experience.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to drive a van with wheelchair lift.
- Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.
- Ability to work various shifts, including overnight shifts.
- Willingness and ability to respond to emergency situations as they arise.
