Overview
An Infant Development Program Teacher supports the growth and development of infants (typically birth to age 3) through individualized educational and therapeutic interventions. This role often involves working with children who have developmental delays or disabilities and collaborating closely with families to create nurturing, developmentally appropriate environments.
Responsibilities
- Assess infants’ developmental needs and create individualized learning plans.
- Implement age-appropriate activities to support motor, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Monitor developmental milestones and identify potential delays.
- Conduct home visits to support parent-child interaction and model developmental activities.
- Educate families on child development, disabilities, and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with families to develop and update Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
- Design and lead parent education groups and support sessions.
- Coordinate with community agencies to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
- Prepare children for transition into preschool or other educational settings.
- Work as part of a transdisciplinary team including therapists, social workers, and educators.
- Train and support paraprofessionals and instructional aides.
- Maintain detailed records and reports on child progress and program outcomes.
- Complete comprehensive assessments and progress reports.
Experience
- Deep understanding of early childhood development and intervention strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with families and team members.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with infants and diverse family situations.
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field OR 3+ years' experience
- Experience working with infants and toddlers, especially those with special needs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
