Mental Health Behavior Technician swing/day/weekend split

At California Care Mental Health, we provide care in a small, structured setting (up to 5 patients), supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, sex addiction, and other mental health challenges. Our team is hands-on, supportive, and committed to delivering high-quality care every day.

Schedule (REQUIRED):

This is a split-shift position. Candidates must be available for:

• Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
• Weekends are required

(Flexibility to work both shifts is mandatory.)

Position Overview:

Behavioral Health Technicians provide direct care and supervision to patients in a residential mental health setting. This role is critical in maintaining structure, safety, and a positive environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Complete essential tasks per company policy (UA testing, belongings searches, intake paperwork)
• Monitor and document patient self-administration of medications
• Perform routine patient checks (every 30–60 minutes) and document accordingly
• Assist patients with daily needs and support
• Maintain facility cleanliness (sanitizing, trash, laundry, etc.)
• Follow program rules, structure, and daily schedules
• Complete end-of-shift email reports, including individual patient updates
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year experience in mental health or working with psychiatric populations (preferred)
• Must pass Live Scan background check (no criminal history)
• Valid Driver’s License
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Must be reliable, flexible, and professional
