Counselor Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our distinguished team of pain management and addiction treatment providers. We are looking for a compassionate, driven, and dedicated professional who is committed to enhancing the well-being of our patients. Prior experience with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is preferred. This role offers both in-house and Telehealth opportunities within a multidisciplinary outpatient pain and addiction treatment clinic. The clinic operates in Biloxi and Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and family counseling to address and treat addiction, while promoting social wellness.
- Conduct clinical sessions for the Addiction Treatment program, ensuring accurate and thorough medical documentation.
- Develop and maintain individualized, comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Deliver supportive counseling and therapeutic services in alignment with our company's standards and general best practices for mental health professionals.
- Perform addiction risk assessments and provide follow-up counseling as necessary.
- Uphold the ethical standards and guidelines of the social work and counseling profession.
- Document clinical work in accordance with our company's standards, including diagnostic evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge procedures, and other patient-related documentation.
- Engage in continuing education to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.
- Actively participate in clinical team meetings and collaborative staff discussions.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless, integrated patient care experience.
- Take on additional responsibilities as outlined by the Medical Director or as needed to support clinic operations.
- Provide Telemedicine and in-person counseling sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Current clinical licensure to practice as an LCSW or LPC issued by the Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience; experience in addiction treatment is preferred.
- Ability to obtain all necessary clearances in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
