Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill acquisition and reduce problematic behaviors
- Collect and record data meticulously during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and other self-care tasks
- Support teaching strategies that foster communication, social skills, and functional independence in clients
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation, care plans, and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions
- Contribute to a positive, supportive environment that encourages client engagement and progress
Requirements
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management strategies
- Ability to collect data accurately during sessions and interpret results for ongoing treatment planning
- Strong communication skills for teaching, documenting, and collaborating effectively with team members and families
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and confidentiality standards such as HIPAA
- Compassionate attitude with patience for working one-on-one with clients in various settings
