Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
Position Summary: Under supervision and as part of Coordinated Specialty Care and Adult Mental Health team, provide peer-to-peer services to consumers, assisting them to achieve their recovery goals. Assist consumers with linking to appropriate internal and external services and navigating systems essential to recovery and growth. Establish and develop appropriate consumer relationships of trust, hope, and empowerment by sharing own lived experiences to facilitate achievement of consumers’ recovery goals. Models recovery achievements and supports persons served with their recovery efforts. Assists persons served in developing communication, social, problem-solving, and self-help skills. Participates in recovery individual and group sessions. Provide community outreach as requested. Provides peer support services as outlined in the Texas Administration Code and current state guidelines for persons with persistent and severe mental illness in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Texoma Community Center. Ensure clinical documentation is submitted in accordance with TCC standards and meets all designated requirements. Other duties as assigned. Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.
Full Time and Part Time hours are available.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or a High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) issued in accordance with the law of the issuing state.
  • At least one year of receiving mental health community services with a primary diagnosis of mental illness or dual diagnosis.

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

  • Current driver’s license and vehicle for use at work
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.
  • The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
