Job Summary
The Department of Psychology invites applications for a renewable one-year, fixed-term position at the rank of Lecturer/Adjunct Assistant Professor scheduled to begin in Fall 2026. The primary purpose of the position will be to teach courses in the core and in major programs offered by the Department of Psychology. Duties
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions in undergraduate psychology courses, including topics such as social work, research methods, and cognitive psychology
- Develop and update course curricula utilizing learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard or similar platforms to enhance online and hybrid learning experiences
- Incorporate various learning technologies and tools like GIS (Geographic Information Systems), SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), and library services to enrich student learning
- Design assessments, assignments, and projects that evaluate student understanding while encouraging creative writing and critical analysis
- Support students through one-on-one mentoring, working with diverse learners including adult language learners and bilingual students
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives to ensure courses meet academic standards and industry trends
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and participation using LMS platforms
Qualifications
- Adjunct Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in Psychology and have taught a minimum of four (4) classes.
Lecturer: Master’s degree in Psychology with 18 Credit hours of psychology courses for the Lecturer position, and have taught a minimum of four (4) classes.
