Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive School Psychologist to join our educational team starting as soon as possible. This vital role involves providing comprehensive psychological services to students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to promote a positive learning environment and ensure the well-being of all students. Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students' needs and strengths.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and specialists.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on behavioral health, social skills, and emotional regulation.
- Manage crisis situations by implementing crisis intervention strategies and safety plans.
- Support early intervention programs for students with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Collaborate with educators to develop behavior management strategies and support inclusive classroom environments.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and reports in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Facilitate social work interventions and coordinate case management for students requiring additional support.
- Conduct psychological testing to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Offer training and consultation on mental health topics, conflict management, and social-emotional learning.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to special education, disability accommodations, and student safety.
Skills
- Extensive experience in child & family counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral health management.
- Proficiency in psychological testing, diagnostic evaluation, and case management.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments within educational settings.
- Skilled in applied behavior analysis (ABA), social work principles, and early intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with children, families, educators, and healthcare providers.
- Competence in medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and maintaining confidential medical records.
- Proven ability to manage conflict situations professionally while ensuring student safety.
- Familiarity with school psychology practices including behavior management plans and crisis management protocols.
- Capable of developing safety plans tailored to individual student needs while promoting a supportive environment.
