AMEND Treatment Center in Malibu has opportunity to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of professionals in providing residential mental health care to adults of all ages and genders in a beautiful, home-like setting. The ideal candidate is warm, enthusiastic, interested in growth potential, and enjoys interacting with clients. This position requires sensitivity and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, medication management, a team orientation, and experience with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders.
Successful candidates will have the ability to build rapport with adults, outstanding judgment and boundaries, excellent communication skills, and who can thrive in a team like setting. You must be able to pass a fingerprint, FBI Background Check. Must have reliable transportation and be available to work weekends. Experience in mental and/or behavioral health is a plus.
1. Directly supervises and monitors client activities according to unit/program needs/schedules,
(e.g., community meetings, groups, visits, recreation, outside activities, work assignments,medications, meals, etc.).
2. Support clients in attainment of treatment goals; address client needs and utilize crisis intervention skills and communication; prioritize client dignity and self-advocacy; respond quickly to emergency situations and inform and maintain communication with management.
3. Conducts regular facility inspections for cleanliness, maintenance needs, and fire/emergency equipment/risk. Maintains safety and emergency plan documentation (drills, incidents, etc.)
4. Conducts property searches of clients as required by program standards.
6. Provides clerical support to counseling, and management staff, (e.g., filing, answering phones, etc.) and completes data entry into EHR and computer system as assigned.
7. With company clearance, provides transportation services utilizing company vehicles, including client transportation, agency errands, etc.
8. Attends training and educational workshops and completes required web-based training.
10. Has education and/or experience in suicide risk assessment and care of persons at risk for suicide or ability to complete training in suicide risk assessment and prevention within 30 days of Hire.
11. Performs and record UDS testing of clients on intake and on a weekly basis as directed.
12. Attends all required staff meetings.
13. Cooperates and communicates fully with other staff members regarding client care, progress, activities, treatment planning, medication etc.
14. Conducts self in a professional manner in areas of dress, language, attitude, and behavior.
15. Exhibits full knowledge and support of the philosophy and objectives of the Company.
16. Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Attainment of at least 21 years of age
Completion of Criminal Record Clearance
Completion of Health Screen clearance with negative tuberculosis (TB) and Covid-19 test results
EDUCATION/TRAINING
High School Diploma
Bachelor Degree Preferred
Completion of Mandated Reporter Training within specified timeframe
