Internship Supervision
DescriptionWhat You Will Do
  • Conduct Psychological assessments of children, adolescents and adults, including interviewing, testing and scoring, report writing and revising, contacts with referral sources, review of cases with supervising Psychologists, and consultations as needed to specialty groups (epilepsy, cochlear implants, neurology/neurosurgery).
  • Participate in fellowship training activities, including (in addition to assessment supervision) case presentations, didactics, seminars, including reading/review of materials, active discussion, presentations, and research projects. Research activities include taking on her/his own research project(s), formulation of hypotheses, data analysis, and write-up and/or presentation of findings to professional groups.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
QualificationsEducation
  • Requires completion or near completion of Ph.D. program in clinical psychology, school psychology (Required) or
  • related discipline which includes completion of a clinical psychology internship (Required) and
  • Completion of Ph.D. training program and internship in clinical psychology (Required) and
  • if degree is close to completion but must have been awarded Ph.D. within first year to remain eligible. (Required)
Work Experience
  • Must have training and experience in neuropsychological assessment of children. Eligible for beginning position prior to completion of dissertation but must obtain Ph.D. within first year to remain eligible for the position. (Required) and
  • Requires experience in administering and interpreting psychological, developmental, educational, and neuropsychological assessments, and counseling children and their families and preparing written reports (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must have working knowledge of psychological, educational, and neurodevelopmental disorders in children; brain-behavior relationships; various forms of psychopathology; (Required proficiency)
  • principles of child development; (Required proficiency)
  • and fundamental issues in assessment such as standardization, validity, and reliability (Required proficiency)
  • Familiarity with a substantial number of child assessment tests and procedures, and skills in administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological, developmental, educational, behavioral, and neuropsychological tests and measures. (Required proficiency)
