Ph.D. with specific course work in Psychology or a related field.Necessary Skills:
Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environment.
Respond positively and flexibly to demands and deadlines.
Must be detail-oriented and posses strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of Bio-Psychosocial and mental status evaluation techniques; suicide risk factors; psychiatric diagnosis; bases of human behavior; theory and practice of psychotherapy; crisis intervention techniques; effects of psychotropic medications; ethical and legal responsibilities including but not limited to confidentiality and patient rights and requirements for continued licensure.Required Licensure/Certifications:
- Completion of Aggression Control Techniques training by hire date or within probationary period.Required Experience:
One to two (1-2) years mental health clinical internship or equivalent.Preferred Experience:
Exposure and/or experience in rehabilitation psychology, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and other medical conditions and disabilities. Employment or practicum experience providing evaluations and psychotherapy in an acute care medical facility.
