Position Overview

The YWCA of Contra Costa & Sacramento is seeking a dedicated Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) to provide therapeutic services to children, families, and adults. Experience working with children is required. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

This is a full‑time, in‑person position serving our Martinez, Antioch, and Bay Point locations.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma‑informed, compassionate counseling services to children (ages 0–12) and adults through the SAM/CalWORKs programs
  • Utilize evidence‑based therapeutic interventions to support emotional and behavioral well‑being
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, holistic care
  • Facilitate play therapy sessions for children and youth (ages 2–21)

Qualifications

  • Experience working with adults participating in SAM/CalWORKs programs
  • Experience providing services to children and youth (ages 0–21)
  • Commitment to supporting diverse communities and promoting emotional wellness
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency (preferred)
  • Play therapy experience (preferred)
  • Active registration with the California BBS and progress toward licensure

Compensation

  • Associate MFT/APCC: $92,000–$95,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Candidates with extensive play therapy experience with children 12 and under will be offered $95,000 annually
