Overview

Nova Home Support is looking for a part-time Registered Behavior Technician to provide behavioral support to a sweet, funny 20-year-old young man with autism, severe mental illness, medical/ADL needs, and behavior challenges. This position requires a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week on Saturday & Sunday between the hours of 3pm-11pm. An additional weekend (overnight) asleep shift from 11pm-7am is also available.

You will be working with a highly skilled team dedicated to improving the young man’s quality of life and will be leading a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on each shift. Support takes place in a private home designed to meet the young man’s unique needs, and outside the home during community outings. Additional staff members are always present and available to assist.

This is an ideal job for those looking to gain experience in the field of ABA. The working environment is creative, dynamic, and provides many opportunities for career advancement, including the direct supervision hours required to maintain an RBT credential & even to achieve the BCBA credential, if desired.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become knowledgeable in all aspects of the client’s Treatment Program and Behavior Intervention Plan and implement them consistently
  • Take the lead in collecting data at home and in the community
  • Ensure that all members of the team have excellent training in behavioral interventions, techniques, and data collection methods, and can apply them consistently across all settings.
  • Assist with other aspects of direct care for our client, including completion of ADL’s such as showering and toileting, maintenance of a sanitary environment, crisis support, and emergency response.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • A valid, or recently expired, Registered Behavior Technician certification (Note: candidates with a Board-Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) certification or Special Education Teaching credential will also be considered).
  • At least 1 year of experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis or a related field
  • Experience with data collection
  • A valid driver’s license and insurance, and reliable transportation to and from work
  • Clean driving record
  • Fingerprinting and LiveScan (both CACI and DOJ)
  • Excellent work references
  • CPR and QBS SafetyCare training will be provided if necessary. Successful completion and implementation of all training is required.

The Ideal Candidate for this Role:

  • Is people-oriented, energetic, upbeat, hard-working, caring, and resourceful
  • Has strong oral and written communication skills
  • Is excited by the opportunity to foster the long-term growth, well-being, and potential of an individual child, rather than driving to many different houses each week to deliver a few hours of ABA instruction
  • Enjoys being with people with developmental disabilities, implementing behavioral techniques, and serving as a positive role model

Compensation: Compensation for the RBT shifts starts at $33.00/hour. With the opportunity to advance to up to $36.00/hour. An optional additional asleep shift is available for the right candidate at $20.90/hour.

Schedule: Part-Time (minimum 16 hours/week). Two 8-hour shifts on swing shift (3pm-11pm) on the weekend. Optional third shift is also available.

If you would like to advance your ABA skills while having a positive impact on a young man's life, please contact us! Be sure to include your email, contact phone and resume.
