Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Aides to provide high-quality care and support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, ensure residents' safety, and promote a comfortable and respectful atmosphere. This role is vital in enhancing residents' quality of life through personalized care, companionship, and support with their individual needs. Prior experience in senior care, memory care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document accordingly using EMR systems
- Provide personal care and support for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, utilizing specialized memory care techniques
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration needs
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively to assist with transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
- Follow all safety procedures including first aid protocols and emergency response plans
- Document resident progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams, families, and other staff members
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care settings preferred
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges is advantageous
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation is a plus
- Previous caregiving experience involving medication administration and vital signs monitoring is desirable
- Experience using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or assisting with transfers is beneficial
- Valid driver’s license for driving residents or running errands may be required depending on the role
This position requires a caring attitude, patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should be committed to providing respectful, person-centered care that enhances residents’ dignity and independence.
Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
