Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The RBT will work directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to enhance the quality of life for our clients while promoting their independence and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Provide direct support to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on teaching new skills and managing behaviors.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence.
- Collect and record data on client progress, behaviors, and interventions as per treatment protocols.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to reinforce strategies at home.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Document medical records accurately, including care plans and behavioral health notes.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and adapt strategies as needed.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in behavioral therapy and special education.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is required.
- Experience working with children or individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is required.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and patient care practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to understand medical terminology related to behavioral health and documentation requirements.
- Experience in teaching or special education settings is a plus.
- Must demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting individuals in achieving their goals.
