Overview

The mission of Helie Health, Inc. is to promote recovery from the effects of substance use and mental health disorders and other health issues. To support the mission of Helie Health, Inc. the Benefits Manager will provide support to participants to apply for or retain insurance and benefits they are eligible for as well as compliance with any requirements or documentation to maintain coverage.

 

 

In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible for a Sign-on incentive of up to $1,500 to $8,000 depending upon credentials!

 

 

Pay Rate: $62,400.00 per year

 

 

Working Relationships:

  • Receives supervision from the Team Leader and/or Patient Access Specialist Manager and maintains consistent communication with supervisor regarding content of workload
  • Responds to request for support for participants in Residential, Inpatient and Outpatient Programs in the regional assignment area.
  • Works with participants, third party payers, Medicaid, County DSS Representatives, State and Federal agencies to support participant enrollment in applicable benefits and plans.
  • Builds relationships with organizations to improve access to insurance and benefits for patients.
  • Works collaboratively with the Revenue Cycle Management colleagues and Leadership to address changes in benefit requirements and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review insurance enrollment, certification and other local, state and federal requirements with participants.
  • Support participants through tracking and support of documentation needs, confirmation elioibilitv, level of benefits, authorization reauirements, re-enrollment and coordination of benefits.
  • Review participant obligations of patient financial responsibility, discount fee options and payment planning.
  • Assist in developing and administering procedures for participant benefit management.
  • Negotiate access to care for individuals seeking services at Hello Health, Inc..
  • Educate program staff on evolving benefit changes and requirements.
  • Use effective relationship management, coordination of services, resource management, education and patient advocacy to promote improved quality of care and/or life.
  • Attend training on benefits plan changes and requirements to stay abreast of all current information.
  • Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned 10)Represent the agency to the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Qualified health Professional (QHP) preferred.
  • Two years of experience in billing or benefits enrollment rn health care, social services or managed care setting.
  • Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities about benefit management.
  • Excellent ability to work effectively with patients, the professional community and co-workers.
  • Must have excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with a basic knowledge of electronic Health record systems, health care billing systems and insurance portals.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Salary and hourly compensation ranges are provided in accordance with NYS law and are based on Helio Health's good faith belief of what is accurate at the time of posting. Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
