Job Summary

The LOC5 Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) serves on a multidisciplinary behavioral health team to provide coordinated care in the community for adults in psychiatric crisis for up to 90 days, focusing on stabilization and successful linkage to ongoing behavioral health services post-crisis. LOC5 QMHP embrace trauma-sensitive and informed practices, provide Suicide Safer care, and fosters a supportive and welcoming environment. LOC5 QMHPs operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and/or stakeholders. Interventions and services are community-based and may require the use of a personal automobile. Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD. This position works in close conjunction with and in support of Integral Care's Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), Mobile Crisis Teams (EMCOT/MCOT), Austin Police Department (APD), Travis County Sheriff's Department (TCSO), and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), providing assessments, interventions, brief follow-up, and service linkage to adults.

Job Duties

  • The LOC5 QMHP completes assessments of strengths, preferences, functional impairments, and symptoms of psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorder(s)
  • The LOC5 QMHP determines eligibility for services and collaborates with individuals to define and facilitate desired life outcomes utilizing a recovery based and trauma-informed perspective.
  • The LOC5 QMHP delivers therapeutic interventions to help individuals develop skills to manage symptoms, obtain/maintain employment and housing, and/or to obtain services such as medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and other resources to fulfill needs as defined by the individual
  • The LOC5 QMHP delivers therapeutic evidence-based and best practice interventions, including, but not limited to: individual, family, and/or group interventions using evidence-based interventions, psycho-education and patient education strategies, crisis assessment, and case management in the community.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.

License

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Experience

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Hours:

Full-Time.

Workdays: Flexible

Workhours: Five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts (Flexible)

Salary: $24.18 - $25.39 an hour based on education, plus and addition 10% crisis stipend.

Position may be eligible for an additional shift differential pay.

  • Second Shift: $3.25/hour.
  • Third Shift: $7.25/hour.
  • Weekend Shift: $8.00/hour.
