Job Title: School Social Worker
Location: Chicago, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Duration: 20 Weeks (2025–2026 School Year)
Pay Rate: $55/hour
Job Summary
An educational organization in Chicago, Illinois is seeking an experienced, full-time School Social Worker to support school campuses during the 2025–2026 school year. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in collaborating with families, educators, and community agencies to address social, emotional, and environmental factors that impact student success. The School Social Worker plays a key role in promoting academic achievement, student well-being, and inclusive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling services to support students’ social-emotional development and academic success
Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify student needs and appropriate interventions
Collaborate with families and community agencies to address adverse conditions affecting student learning
Serve as an active member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, including:
Determining eligibility for special education services
Supporting appropriate program placement
Monitoring and documenting student progress
Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, teachers, and administrators
Contribute to a multidisciplinary learning support team focused on improving student outcomes
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school, district, and state requirements
Participate in meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities as required
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field
Appropriate Illinois state licensure or certification for School Social Work
Proven experience working in a school-based setting
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and community partners
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting diverse student populations
Strong knowledge of special education processes and IEP development
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
