Job Title: School Social Worker
Location: Chicago, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Duration: 20 Weeks (2025–2026 School Year)

Pay Rate: $55/hour

Job Summary

An educational organization in Chicago, Illinois is seeking an experienced, full-time School Social Worker to support school campuses during the 2025–2026 school year. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in collaborating with families, educators, and community agencies to address social, emotional, and environmental factors that impact student success. The School Social Worker plays a key role in promoting academic achievement, student well-being, and inclusive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to support students’ social-emotional development and academic success

  • Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify student needs and appropriate interventions

  • Collaborate with families and community agencies to address adverse conditions affecting student learning

  • Serve as an active member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, including:

    • Determining eligibility for special education services

    • Supporting appropriate program placement

    • Monitoring and documenting student progress

  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, teachers, and administrators

  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary learning support team focused on improving student outcomes

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school, district, and state requirements

  • Participate in meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities as required

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field

  • Appropriate Illinois state licensure or certification for School Social Work

  • Proven experience working in a school-based setting

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and community partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting diverse student populations

  • Strong knowledge of special education processes and IEP development

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
