Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit/Intern to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Provide specialized counseling for children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety and stability during emergencies.
- Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, medical documentation, HIPAA-compliant record keeping, and medical records management.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote mental health services while maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality and medical terminology accuracy.
- Support research initiatives by collecting data, analyzing outcomes, and contributing to clinical research projects related to behavioral health and addiction counseling.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on treatment planning, behavior management, social work interventions, and special education needs.
Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques including motivational interviewing, grief counseling, PTSD care, substance use treatment, and working with people with disabilities.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic purposes and CPT coding for billing is desirable.
- Proven ability to manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management skills.
- Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms combined with strong patient assessment skills will set candidates apart.
