Austin Industries has an outstanding opportunity for a Training and Development Manager at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Our Training and Development Manager will perform a variety of duties relating, but not limited to, working with company leadership to establish a learning and development strategy, developing relationships with employee-owners to determine learning needs, developing and maintaining online and in-person trainings through Austin University, and creating customized reporting to track training progress and effectiveness. This position reports 100% onsite to the office in the Uptown Dallas area.
Responsibilities
- Partner with company leaders to identify learning objectives, assess skill gaps, and evaluate training needs.
- Design, develop, and deliver both online and in-person training.
- Manage and update current training content.
- Accountable for planning and executing company leadership programs.
- Responsible for coaching individual employee-owners and supervising support staff in a manner consistent with the company’s core values and leadership philosophy.
- Prepare weekly and monthly training reports for company leadership.
- Involved in communicating a consistent, core-values based message throughout the company.
- Provide administrative support with Austin’s Learning Management System (LMS).
- Perform additional duties assigned as needed.
- Background in education, training, human resources, or organizational development preferred
- Experience with blended learning techniques (virtual, instructor led, etc.)
- Bilingual background a plus, but not required
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
- Exceptional verbal skills and concise communication are key to success in this role
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, education, human resources, business, or equivalent required; or related experience in training and development or equivalent may substitute
- 5+ years of experience in both developing and delivering training content
- 3-5 years of experience either coaching or developing others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Valid driver’s license
- Day and overnight travel up to 50% nationally as needed
