Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, organized, and self-directed Qualified Mental Health Professional – Community Services (QMHP-CS) to provide skills training and development to youth and families. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong time management, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person skills training and development sessions with assigned clients at least once weekly in either the participant’s residence or suitable community locales.
- Implement case management and skills-based interventions aimed at enhancing the youth’s natural support systems and strengths, fostering resilience and recovery.
- Complete corresponding documentation for each session within a 24-hour timeframe
- Develop individualized goals and interventions aligned with treatment plans
- Use evidence-based practices to teach coping skills, emotional regulation, and problem-solving
- Collaborate with families, schools, and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in supervision and training as needed
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions
- Accurate documentation of services, attendance at Wraparound Team meetings as necessary, and communication of participant progress to supervisors, team members, and the referring authority are among the responsibilities of the QMHP-CS.
- All services adhere to the Texas Medicaid Provider Procedures Manual, the Texas Resilience and Recovery Utilization Management Guidelines, YPIC standards, and pertinent state and federal regulations governing service delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related human services field (Required to meet QMHP-CS criteria as defined by Texas HHSC)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass background checks and any required state compliance measures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic documentation
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualities:
- Prior experience working with youth or in a community mental health setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Comfortable with technology, including client record systems and virtual communication tools
