Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake interviews and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding standards.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual counseling sessions focused on mental health issues including trauma, grief, addiction, PTSD, gender issues, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and chronic pain management.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during acute episodes.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling services while maintaining HIPAA compliance and secure medical documentation practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, and staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document all clinical interactions using appropriate CPT coding for billing purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential.
- Proven experience in clinical counseling across outpatient or inpatient settings with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and addiction counseling.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic classification and medical record documentation.
- Experience working with special populations such as geriatrics, or those requiring special education support is preferred.
- Proficiency in crisis management procedures and behavior management strategies for high-risk clients.
- Telehealth experience is highly desirable; ability to adapt to virtual platforms while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
