Social Worker | Detroit, Michigan

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time social worker position is available to provide essential services within a K-12 school setting in Detroit, MI. This contract role runs through the 2025-2026 school year and offers an opportunity to support the academic and social-emotional development of students in grades K-8.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver social work services to approximately seven students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and select general education students.
• Support students in compliance with their IEP goals and behavioral plans.
• Complete detailed IEP-related documentation, progress reports, and other required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant regulations and school policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid social worker credential or license with experience in school social work.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IEP processes and special education laws.
• Experience working with K-8 students in a school-based environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, families, and school personnel.

Schedule and Details:

• Part-time commitment of 15 hours per week.
• Work hours from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Position available immediately through June 13, 2026.
• Located within the Detroit, MI area serving a K-12 school community.
